Dear Everest, why should I pay more for you when there are people out there offering 200 or $300, specials?
That’s a good question of course. Everyone wants to save money right? But are you really saving money if you are not getting what you are paying for? The people that offer services at that price range show up with equipment that is underpowered for most applications. Their business philosophy is based on volume, cheapness and speed. Their compressors if they have them, are 7.5 CFM versus ours that are 32 cfms. Their vacuums are usually 600 to 1,000 cfms, while ours are 2500 cfm and we have two of them. What that translates to is that we have more and consistent agitation power during the entire time the air scrubbers are operating, in order to be able to lift and remove the maximum amount of contaminants while at the same time ensuring the integrity of the duct work.
Also, the technicians that do those jobs are generally very minimally trained and knowledgeable, and have minimal skills to deal with any unusual circumstances they might encounter during the process. Our Techs are trained for many months and many jobs before they go out on their own. To compound this the competition are paid by the job or by commission, instead of being paid by the hour. This incentivizes them to get in and out as fast as possible and go to the next one so they can make more money on volume, instead of charge what they need to charge to ensure quality.
We take the latter approach, we are old fashioned, we believe in delivering what the customer is going to pay for. We are like a Swiss watch of duct and HVAC cleaning, where all the gears are meticulously crafted together to yield fine performance, rather than to have a cheap digital watch that is stamped out by the millions and has no care put into it.
Also we charge more to clean the air handling units (furnaces) than other duct companies, if they clean it at all. Yet we still charge at least 25 to 50% less to clean them than what an air conditioning company charges. How can that be possible? Because other duct companies that supposedly clean the air handlers simply do a quick blow with their low volume and low pressure compressor on the blower fan, and call it good. Maybe they’ll give a quick rinse of the coils. And on the other side, our equipment and methodology allows us to clean the units more efficiently and thoroughly than the HVAC guys, making us cheaper than them.
For us, not only do we blow out the blower fan, and blow it with much higher pressure and volume than the competition which ensures much more debris removal, we also offer the option to pull the entire assembly off and wash it if the situation calls for it. We also clean the housing of the blower, the heat exchanger, the return side of the coil which is the important side, the coils housing, we flush out the drain line and then we also clean what is called the supply and return plenums which are the areas above and below the air handler which connect the back work to the unit. None of those are addressed by the other duct cleaning companies, and some of that is not even addressed by the air conditioning companies that will charge $150 more than what we do.
So the bottom line is this, we do what we do and we price it the way we price it because we do the work with love and care, the love and care to respect the money the customer is spending and want to give them the result that they are paying for. We are not a blow and go operation. We are there to see what your needs are, and to meet them. Our crew is paid well and paid by the hour, so they care about the customer because they care about their job. And they’re happy to take as long as is needed to do the job right because they’re not commissioned based or paid by the job.
And this is why our motto is the Pinnacle of professionalism! We understand some people just want a cheap blow and go job and that is fine, there is a market for everything. But duct cleaning is something that most people do only once every 5 to 20 years. So if you dollar cost average how much your duct cleaning job will cost if you do it every 10 years, your yearly cost of keeping the duct and HVAC system cleaned is extremely cheap.
If you made it to the end, thank you so much for reading and we hope you will give us a call!”
